Position: Business Development Manager

Reporting: Head – Ecommerce

Location: Ecospace Business Park, Rajarhat – Kolkata

Salary: ₹5,00,000 – ₹8,00,000 a year

Criteria : Bachelor of Technology in Metallurgical Engineering (B.Tech in Metallurgical Engineering) or preferred from Aluminium Metallurgy background.

Job Summary

After getting enormous success and stabilizing our content business, we aim to enter the world of Ecommerce & Online Marketplace. As a global player in the industry, we aim to be present in the entire value chain of Aluminium through our online marketplace and Ecommerce presence across all countries. While we are building this dream of ours, our team is also getting bigger. The Business Development Manager is a key role in this journey.

We are building the team which will support the launch of Ecommerce and online platform from scratch. This is going to be an awesome and fun filled journey for the individual who is supposed to build the backbone for this project as Business Development Manager .

The person will be responsible for the initial seller onboarding, listing and to identify research and target business prospects

  • Building relationships with vendors and maintaining the same is a key aspect of this role
  • As this is a global platform, the BD Manager will also have to be comfortable managing and developing international geographies
  • The person needs to build his / her own team which will be eventually responsible for revenue
  • Need to constantly engage and coordinate with other verticals as well as other business units for potential business opportunities 


  • The candidate should have strong experience of working in a B2B environment
  • The candidate should have experience in buyer/seller onboarding and client relationship management
  • The candidate should have experience of working in an online marketplace/Ecommerce environment
  • Vendor management (onboarding, relationship management, issue resolution) is a key part
  • Knowledge of Online Ad space selling, digital sales is required
  • Should be able to take ownership as he/she will be the sole responsible person for the revenue side of the Ecommerce portal
  • Must be a smart worker, dedicated & most importantly a self-starter.
  • Proven experience of team building and managing capabilities
  • The candidate’s people skills would be given a lot of weightage as she/he will be required to work closely with multiple functions/teams 

The Business Development Manager is actually the person who is responsible for all kinds of revenue generation for this Ecommerce portal.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Bachelor of Technology in Metallurgical Engineering (B.Tech in Metallurgical Engineering)
  • MBA is preferred, Graduation (any specialization) is mandatory
  • Previous experience of working in a B2B environment is mandatory, working in online marketplace/Ecommerce environment is a big plus
  • Strong verbal, written and visual communication and presentation skills
  • Experience of team building and team managing is a Must
  • Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding set targets
  • Preferred from Aluminium Metallurgy background
